Growler Frenzy continues with The Filling Station
"Chelsea Market’s The Filling Station (75 9th Avenue, at 15th St., Chelsea) has been known for offering fresh pours of olive oils, vinegars, and salts to take home. So it was only natural that its next step would be to offer beer to take home. They have made it so: beginning next Wednesday, June 29th, they will start offering growlers of beer to-go.
They’ll kick off that evening with a tasting from Sixpoint, who will serve Sweet Action, Bengali Tiger, The Crisp, and Righteous Rye, along with a Belgian Pale Ale brewed specifically for the Filling Station called Hopline."

New York Times - At Chelsea Market, Refills on Olive Oil
"A few places around the city, including Fairway and Stonehouse, decant olive oils from large containers into reusable ones, but none are as dedicated as the new Filling Station in Chelsea Market. Besides extra virgin olive oils — more than a dozen from different countries, dispensed from drums called fustis — vinegars, sea salts and sugars are sold in containers of several sizes provided by the store, which customers can then have refilled at a 10 percent discount. “We feel this is also a way of helping the environment with automatic recycling,” said Laura Nuter, an owner of the new store and of Grab Specialty Foods in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Her partner is Megan Joan Cariola, the owner of Provisions in South Street Seaport. There are dark and white balsamic vinegars, many infused with fig, peach and other fruits. Salts come flavored or unflavored; sugars include Demarara and caster. The partners hope to have a liquor license in the fall and will then begin selling beer in refillable growlers."
